ELMED BIPOLAR GENERATOR BC 50 M/M

 FOR LIGATION OF VESSELS

The ELMED BC 50 M/M is an all purpose bipolar coagulator with a MACRO and MICRO mode. In the MACRO mode, the BC 50 M/M may be used for bipolar coagulation in laparoscopy and other procedures with large forceps. The ligation of vessels, even large ones, is reliably performed without trauma to adjacent tissue.

In the MICRO mode, the unit is ideally suitable for wet-field coagulation in ophthalmology, neurosurgery and other microsurgical interventions.

THE ELMED BC 50 M/M FEATURES (List No. 5300 only):

• Two distinctly different output ranges

Micro Mode - up to 12 Watts for microsurgical wet-field coagulation in Ophthalmology, Neurosurgery, Hand and Plastic, as well as Tubular Reconstructive Surgery.

Macro Mode - up to 50 Watts for bipolar laparoscopic coagulation and all other ligation of vessels and when heavy bipolar forceps are to be utilized

• The intensity may be regulated within the full range of the dial setting, whether in the MICRO or MACRO mode.
• Smooth, non-modulated RF-current permits bipolar MICRO and MACRO coagulation without traumatic destruction of adjacent tissue.
• The sophisticated solid-state circuit guarantees reproducible output and trouble-free service, up to 12 W at 100 Ohm  in the MICRO mode and 50 W at 100 Ohm in the MACRO mode.
• Operation by conventional footswitch or with handswitching (BI-CO-MATIC) instruments. In selector position "hand", the bipolar output is activated by the special switching device installed in our BI-CO-MATIC forceps, by applying extra pressure to the forceps. This provides the surgeon with precise control over the coagulation time.

The ELMED BC 50 STANDARD has similar features to the ELMED BC 50 M/M but for cost containment the MICRO and the handswitching circuits were eliminated. The ELMED BC 50 STANDARD has an output of up to 50 W at 100 Ohm load, exceeding all clinical requirements.
