The ELMED ESU 170 RF is a modern electrosurgical unit for general and special procedures.

The unit was designed when two different currents are to be used separately.

In the cutting mode, you may choose between Pure, Blend 1 and Blend 2. For spray coagulation, a modulated wave form of extremely high voltage gives unequaled spray coagulation results.

The bipolar generator permits coagulation with conventional footswitch activated forceps and, in the handswitching mode, with hand activated ones (Bi-Co-Matic).

THE ELMED ESU 170 RF FEATURES:

• Three independent circuits:
• CIRCUIT I - Pure, non modulated current for "smooth" cutting and contact coagulation.
• CIRCUIT II - "Modulated" current of the spark-gap type for coagulation with cutting electrodes and fulguration.
• CIRCUIT III - Non modulated current for bipolar coagulation.
• Safety circuit - Automatic sensing device cuts output off if indifferent patient circuit is defective.
• Operation by footswitch with all conventional instruments.
• Operation by fingertip controlled pencils and forceps without footswitch. (Bi-Co-Matic)
• Special low voltage current for bipolar coagulation.
• The output of all three generators are individually and independently adjustable.
• SMART-O-MATIC, automatic compensation circuit which provides the desired output for all electrodes or tissue conditions. The automatic range control, which is divided into ten steps, requires no readjustment within the set range. The SMART-O-MATIC operates in both the unipolar and bipolar modes.
