When using this unit, your hand and fingertips become the active electrode, seeking out trigger points and other painful muscular/skeletal structures. The indifferent electrode (neutral pad) is put on the patient, while the small disposable active electrode is put on your right hand and covered with a rubber glove. Thus, therapeutic current is transferred through your fingertips (you feel nothing) in a massaging fashion to the patient, becoming the most personalized and pleasant form of electrotherapy.

The ELMED HVG 500 DIGIT, illustrated with the portable patient model in the charging position. You may purchase the complete system or the individual console unit or the portable patient unit.
High voltage, pulsed galvanic therapy gained its acceptance and popularity based on two primary features; first, due to the relatively high voltage and short impulse time, the patient sensory system is not irritated and second, the application is patient oriented, using your fingers in a massaging-like fashion to apply the stimuli (you, the therapist, do not feel the current).
Again, the innovation featured in the ELMED HVG 500 DIGIT makes high voltage, pulsed galvanic therapy ultimately patient oriented, because the therapist uses his or her fingers as the active applicator, instead of the relatively cumbersome hand held probes.
Additionally, the technology incorporated in the ELMED HVG 500 DIGIT allows operation at an even higher output impedance, which results in a previously unobtainable pleasant current sensation. Since the therapist uses the fingers as active electrodes, a massaging-like application is accomplished, giving unsurpassed results. Trigger points, motor points, lymphatic pathways, or along irritated nerves, the current flow is ultimately selective and therefore, more effective.
Since the high voltage current has to overcome the rubber glove, which functions as an insulator, the current discharge to the patient is by capacitive coupling, which is optimally pleasant and effective.

The ELMED HVG 500 DIGIT system consists of two models; the console unit, and the portable patient model, which is ideally suited for home therapy. The portable unit incorporates a battery, which is conveniently re-charged in the specially provided charging receptacle of the console unit or by a separate charger. The output level, pulse frequency and duration of the portable and console units are identical, of course, you may purchase the complete set, including the console and the portable units.
Contemporary design and advanced, digital solid-state circuits are incorporated in both models.
